South London Jobs Fair
In 2012, 3D Change organised the “South London Jobs Fair – Action to Work,” at the Fairfield Halls in central Croydon. The jobs fair’s objective was to maximise resident employment opportunities and create a dynamic and vibrant event, which would ultimately drive social and economic regeneration across South London.
Delivered in partnership with the procurement divisions of 11 South London housing associations, the jobs fair offered an excellent opportunity for all stakeholders.
Benefits for participants
Housing associations met their strategic aims around social and economic regeneration
Housing associations’ residents took a step in the right direction toward long-term, sustained employment
Suppliers to the housing sector had access to procurement representatives to network and understand the market further, developed their corporate social responsibility agenda and raised their profiles
Employers’ met their recruitment needs
What attendees had to say
“We took away around 100 CVs or application forms, and I’m confident that many of the attendees will find work with either ourselves or one of the other employers. An all round success!”
Kate Stafford, The Co-operative Group
“We found the South London Jobs Fair extremely useful, as the housing associations form the core of our business… To have the opportunity to speak face to face with potential buyers from existing and new clients was excellent.” Jim Burbridge, Cosyseal
